Instructions
Changing a watch strap or buckle can generally be completed without any problems. The use of a so-called spring-bar tool is highly recommended. If you regularly change watch bands or straps, a more expensive tool with exchangeable ends is recommended.
The process must be carefully carried out so that the watch or watch band will not be damaged or scratched!
- Firsts take the spring-bar tool, and using the forked end, find the end of the spring bar between the strap and the lug (horn) of the watchcase and push the end of the bar inwards to remove it and the band from the hole in the lug end. You should now be able to pull the band away. Repeat this process for both sides of the watch strap.
- Check the condition of the old spring bars and replace them if necessary. Thread the spring bars through the ends of your new watch band.
- Slot one end of the spring bar into one of the small holes on the inside of the lug and using the forked end of the watch tool, press the other end of the spring bar inwards, releasing it into the small hole on the other lug side. Pull lightly on the now mounted band to check that it is secure, to avoid that it could suddenly fall apart when it is worn.
